Welcome back to Amberley school life. I hope that you all had a fantastic summer break and enjoyed time with your families. Thank you all for your kind words, cards and gifts at the end of term, it was all really kind and very much appreciated.
This week we will begin new journeys in all areas. In Maths we will be looking at place value, counting forwards and backwards, Year 1, in 1s and Year 2, in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
In English we are starting with a unit of Instruction Writing, Mrs Hamilton tried to make sandwiches but she made them all in the wrong order and needs help to understand what instructions looks like, place them in order and write them, understanding chronology.
Year 1 children will have the opportunity to utilise Dexter Class Monday to Wednesday, in the afternoon, as part of transition and continue with continuous provision. During this time, Year 2 will start their first Immersion Curriculum Block, which will be Music - Hey You! We will be listening and appraising, composing and performing the song. Attached is our overview for the week. Look out for the performance on the BLOG. We will also listen to our artist of the Term, Camille Saint-Saens and appreciate classical music, comparing this to our previous artists.
You should have received Hereford's Autumn 1 letter in your children's book bags. This contains a wealth of information about Hereford life and how the week runs. Please make sure you take the time to read this so that children are appropriately equipped for each day.
