This week in Hereford Class

I hope you all had a fantastic bank holiday weekend and enjoyed the Amberley Cow Hunt, which was filled with so much cake! It was lovely to see all the families enjoying themselves.

We have a very short week this week, with the bank holiday and strike. Tuesday 2nd May 2023 is a strike day and that Hereford Class is closed. Children are welcomed back into school on Wednesday.

This week in Hereford Class we begin a new science topic of Living Things. We will be exploring animals including: mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and invertebrates.

In English we are planning our own stories, innovating Peace At Last by Jill Murphy. We will be using the structure to support our writing but changing the characters and the problems that they face.

In Maths, we move onto measurement. Initially we will be looking and length and height, exploring metres and centimetres. Year 1 will be comparing length and heights whilst year 2 will be using rulers also, to measure accurately.

In RE, we continue to learn about the 'Good News' that Jesus brings to Christians and we will be exploring the ideas of friendship, forgiveness and peace.

A letter went home about Friday's plans. We are celebrating the King's Coronation in school and there is a competition in which your children can enter. I have attached the letter to this BLOG if for any reason you have not seen the letter.
