This week in Hereford Class

This week in Hereford Class we will be starting a new immersion curriculum topic of Music. We will be using both tuned and untuned instruments, we will be finding the pulse, clapping rhythms and following instructions in order to play instruments successfully.

In Maths we are revising the key operations in Year 1 and Year 2 will be taught the formal written method for subtraction - they smashed it for addition last week, I was so proud!

In English we are retelling the story of Traction Man, breaking it down into beginning, middle and end. There are lots of problems and resolutions within the story so we aren't following the five part plan this time.

In RE we will be learning about the Jewish Creation story, we will compare and make links to the Creation story in both Islam and Christianity.

Sports day is Friday - parents are welcome from 1pm. Make sure you are in your trainers if you would like to take part in the parents' race. It should be a fun day. A reminder that children will need sun cream and a sunhat, along with a bottle of water.
