This week in Hereford Class
This week in Hereford Class we will move on from our maths topic of 2D shape and use our knowledge of this to name and describe the properties of 3D shape. We will use the vocabulary of edges, faces and vertices.
In English, we begin a new unit of letter writing. We will be identifying the features of a letter, ordering a letter, comprehending a letter and learning how to begin one. We are going to make cross curricular links and write letters as though we have been on holiday to Japan, which was a country we studied earlier on in the year. We will then write a letter independently where we will act as though we were a witness of The Great Fire of London and we are writing to friends, who were not living in London during 1666. We completed a diary entry as if we were at cat during the fire last week, and the descriptive writing was absolutely amazing! I was so proud of the Hereford children.
In RE we will continue with our learning about the Jewish festival of Shabbat and explore the Jewish holy Bible. We will finish off our music performance by integrating Maddie on the violin, Martha on the keyboard, Mo on her guitar and Maya and Edward on their recorders. We will practise and perform to the Belted Galloways - who will also perform to us.
We have our class trip to the Cathedral on Wednesday with Dexter Class. Please remember to bring your children into school in full school uniform with a packed lunch. We aim to be back by the end of the school day.
