This week in Hereford Class
This week in Hereford Class we are moving onto a poetry unit where we will be looking at haiku poems and counting the syllables in words. We have learnt that haiku poems have 3 lines with 5 syllables in the first, 7 in the second and 5 in the third. Identifying these has been tricky but we will continue to practise counting them before we move onto writing our own (about Christmas of course!)
Christmas is close and we are looking forward to making our own decorations for the tree outside on the green.
We continue with the nativity practice this week whereby we will begin filming some scenes with Dexter Class. We are very excited to try on our costumes on, on Tuesday. Thank you to you all for sending in the requested costumes! Once Miss Holden and Mrs Crampton (with the expertise of Mr White) have edited the filming to make a complete nativity, this will be sent out so watch this space!
Although we are not starting a new maths unit, we continue with the practise of our rapid recall skills so that we are able to calculate quickly and mentally.
In RE, we are looking at the nativity scene and continue to discuss how Christians prepare for Christmas.
Buddy the elf continues to be a nuisance. He has already been causing trouble in Hereford Class! Miss Holden is continually tidying up after him and his antics!
