This week in Hereford class

Welcome back to Amberley School life! It was so lovely to have a full class of children last week. It was great to see the Y2 children again and introduce Y1 to life in Hereford Class. They have settled in beautifully and the Y2 children have been great role models and buddies. You should have all received a letter last week detailing the curriculum and other important information. If you didn't receive this, you will find it on the Hereford Class page. This week we are beginning maths, we are looking and counting forwards and backwards as well as practising club maths where children will be rapidly recalling addition and multiplication facts. In English, we are exploring instructions. We will be looking at the features of instructions, ordering them and understanding their structure. In RE we are looking at Islam and how Muslims see their God. We will also continue to explore the Christian value of 'Friendship.' Y1 will continue their transition in Dexter Class in the afternoons whilst Y2 start a unit on composition, using glockenspiels. The curriculum overview was sent home today.
