This week in Hereford Class

I am really excited about this week. It is the week we begin our new Immersion Curriculum topic of 'The Great Fire of London.' This week we will learn about how London has changed since 1666, how the fire started and how it spread. Please return the slips for our trip to Aston Hall, which will be our celebration for the topic. An overview can be found on the class page, which will give you more information.

In maths, we come to the end of our multiplication journey. Year 1 will finish finding and making equal groups and Year 2 multiplying and dividing by 5 and 10.

In English, we have learned the story of Hansel and Gretel and this week, we will be retelling it in our own words, breaking the story up into beginning, middle and end (year 1), and opening, build up, problem, resolution and ending (year 2).

Parents' evening is being held on both Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. If you haven't yet signed up, please do so. We would like to encourage children to attend the parents' evening where possible, however this is up to you. If you would rather the children were not involved in the meeting, this is absolutely fine. I know a few parents would prefer it to be an adult meeting only, and this is fine.
