This week in Hereford Class
I can't believe we are already in week 3 of Spring 1. We have got lots of exciting plans, especially this week!
We are very excited to begin work with ISingPOP. The children will be learning 4 new songs and their dance routines over the next two weeks, under the expert tuition of Jake, before recording their own Amberley CD and performing in two concerts next Wednesday. Please take a look a the Amberley News Letter for further details of the concerts and the option to buy merchandise. On Wednesday, please could children come into school with a brightly coloured t-shirt. There is an option to buy an iSingPOP t-shirt but this is not mandatory and children are able to bring in a t-shirt of their own.
In English this week, we begin to write our letters. We are being mind mining moles and we will be writing letters to our family members about our travels in Brazil. We will be describing all of the things we see on our holiday, based on our Geography learning in the AIC.
In maths, we move onto multiplication. Year 1 will be learning to count in 2s, 5s and 10s whilst Year 2 start by recognising equal groups and then using this to calculate using repeat addition.
In AIC we will finish our Geography journey of the UK. This year we have secured our knowledge of the 7 continents and the 5 oceans - ask your children to sing the songs to you, it has been so much fun!
In RE, we continue to look at what Christians believe God is like. We will be thinking about the story of The Storm On The Lake, which shows Christians that God wants them to trust in him and that Jesus was sent on earth to spread this message. God also wants us to be trusting and trustworthy. We will be thinking about adjectives to describe God in the eyes of a Christian.
