This Week in Hereford
Welcome back! It is so lovely to be back at school and see all of the children's smiling faces. I hope that you all had a fantastic summer and enjoyed time with your family and friends. A huge thank you to the Hereford parents of the 22-23 cohort so your very generous gifts, vouchers and cards. You are all so very kind and I am so grateful. This week, we settle back into school life. Year 1 will continue to utilise the Dexter Classroom in the afternoons as part of the transition into Key Stage 1. Mrs Penn and Mrs Lury will continue to support them in their learning, but back in the Dexter environment after a morning in Hereford with the Year 2 children.
You will receive a letter detailing life in Hereford Class and the expectations around reading, homework and kit for both PE and Outdoor Learning. This will also be placed on the Hereford Class page so it is accessible all year round. On the class page will also be the weeks' Amberley Immersion Curriculum overviews. These will detail the knowledge, skills and vocabulary that your children will learn.
In Maths this week, we are learning to count forwards and backwards. Year 1 will be counting forwards and backwards to 20 and Year 2, to 100.
In English we start a journey on instructions. We will learn what is in a set of instructions by finding the features, we will order and understand the features before we write our own.
Year 2 will start the AIC with PSHE - respecting ourselves and others. Please refer to the overview for further details.
If you have any questions or concerns at any point, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or speak to me on the gates in the morning or afternoon.
