This Week in Friesian Class

This week, we are very excited to be visiting Greystones Farm Iron Age site. Please check your email for a reminder about what the children need to bring.

In English, we will be looking at advertising as a form of persuasion, and will be linking this into work in our immersion curriculum time, with Miss Cale, on how online advertising can take different forms.

In PSHE, we will also be finding out about the world of work and money, as part of a whole school focus week. We are thrilled to be joined by Mr and Mrs Benedixson, who will be talking to the children about their roles in world of finance. The children will have opportunities to think about where our money comes from, how it is spent and how we need to prioritise our needs over our wants in order to stay within a budget.

In maths, Year 4 will be applying their short multiplication skills to problem solving, and Year 3 will be learning about fractions.

In RE, we will be completing this term's unit on Hinduism and the children will have opportunity to reflect on their learning across the term, making connections with other areas of Religious Education.

We will be completing our work on the Oracy project on Monday, when three children from each class will be invited to speak in front of the school. One child from each class will then be chosen to represent our school in their age group, at a local schools Oracy competition.

If you have time, why not take time to visit Three Storeys in Nailsworth, where many of our class sculptures are on display, alongside fabulous examples of artwork from children in the local area, as part of the 'Next Level Young People's Art Exhibition'. The exhibition is running from Tuesday, February 7th to Sunday, February 26th.
