This week in Friesian Class...

Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your half term and had extra fun celebrating over the Jubilee bank holiday! We certainly did by witnessing Miss Holden become Mrs Hamilton! (The children have tried exceptionally hard already to not slip up with the name!)

This week in Friesian Class we will be starting our new RE unit by exploring the Christian Value of Courage. We will be looking at the story of David and Goliath and how this shows the value of courage. We will also be reflecting on how we can show courage and the other people we respect because they have shown true courage.

In English, we will be completing our story writing journey by reinventing the story of Into The Forest by Anthony Browne. The children will be planning which traditional story characters their main character will be meeting along the way! In maths, we will be continuing to work on time. We will be learning to tell the time to the minute past and to the hour, as well as completing problem solving activities. In Immersion Curriculum, we are musicians! We are learning a new song called Bringing Us Together. We spent the first lesson listening and appraising to the song, as well as finding the beat and the tempo. We went on to learn the words. We will go on to learn how to play the song using either recorders or glockenspiels ready to perform. We will also spend some time composing our own parts to perform along to the piece.

The Y4's received a letter regarding an internet safety production next Wednesday. Please could you fill in and return the form to let us know whether you would like your child to attend and whether you would be able to offer transport.

Reading books were changed yesterday and will be changed again on Thursday, if the children need them changing. Please ensure to read with your child each night.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
