This week in Friesian Class
This week in Friesian Class we will be continuing our learning about the religion of Islam and exploring further how Muslims worship Allah and the importance of worship to Muslims. In English, we will be continuing our new writing journey by writing the opening, build up, resolution and ending to the Greek myth: Theseus and the Minotaur. The children impressed me with including PVG into their autobiography writing last week, so I am excited to see what they produce this week. During Guided Reading lessons, we will be continuing to read our whole-class text: Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. The children are enjoying reading this book through dip in/dip out reading and they are keen so find out what happens next, after being left on a cliff hanger! In Immersion Curriculum, we are learning about the physical changes that happen to our bodies as we get older, different emotions that we may feel and how we are able to manage these. We will also be learning about how to keep our brains happy and healthy. I have been encouraging children to be practising their times tables as often as they can, especially Y4. I have been sending home times table practise homework sheets with the spelling homework, however there are a variety of ways in which the children can be practising their times tables. If you would like any ideas for practise or any resources, please let me know! I will change over reading books on a Monday and Thursday as usual this week. Miss Rudge
