This week in Friesian Class

This week in Friesian class we are starting our Addition and Subtraction unit in maths. We will be using all of our knowledge learnt so far to add numbers using the formal written method. We will have to call upon our knowledge of place value to help us.

In English, we will be writing the story of Hansel and Gretel, using the 5 different parts of a story to guide us.

In RE, we will be looking at the big question: ‘Is it good to think about the ‘create, preserve, destroy’ cycle in the world?’.

During our Immersion Curriculum, we are learning about growing up and taking responsibility. We will be discussing our different emotions, understanding them and knowing how to deal with them. We are also building up our resilience by squashing our negative thoughts with a positive thought. We are trying to look at everything with a ‘glass half full’ attitude in Friesian class!

Just a reminder that spelling homework is due in every Monday as new spelling homework for that week is given out. If the spelling homework is completed before then, it can be handed in. Reading books are changed on a Monday and a Friday but the children still need to bring their reading books in every day. Some children are asked to read their reading books more than once, to ensure fluency. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me.
