This week in Friesian Class
Welcome back! I hope that you have all had a good break.
This week, we will be starting a new English journey, based on a Greek quest myth, Apollo and Chimera. When we were learning about the Romans, the children were interested in the early Roman religion and today, whilst looking at timelines, we talked about the overlap in the religious beliefs of these ancient civilisations. The children have enjoyed retelling the story today and discussions are already taking place about the adaptations they want to make to create their own stories!
In maths, we looked at the properties of 2d shape today, and as year 3 continue working to develop formal methods in subtraction, year 4 will be starting work on multiplication throughout the rest of the week.
We are continuing to immerse ourselves in history this week, and are learning about World War Two. We are focusing on The Blitz and today, we have been looking at images from around the country (including local ones) and working as historians to use the evidence to infer and ask questions. We will be moving on to talk about life in Britain during The Blitz and about evacuation.
In RE, we will be focusing on our new Value, Service, and will be discussing Biblical teachings in which service can be seen.
We are looking forward to seeing you at parents' evening. Sign up sheets are in the front entrance for you to book a suitable slot.
