This Week in Friesian Class
This week, we will be learning about money in our maths lessons, and Year 4 will be applying their learning on decimals as they work with money. We will also be having our next attempt at the Club maths rapid recall challenge. Keep up that times tables practise!
In English, we will will be starting a new writing journey on explanation texts and will be learning about the features of this non-fiction genre. We will then move to writing our own explanations using information we have learned in previous immersion topics.
In computing, we will be learning about photo editing and will look at how to crop and colour change images for different purposes.
In our immersion curriculum time, we will be working as artists and will be finding out about a range of traditional arts from around the world, including Ukrainian Pysanky egg decorating, Chinese bamboo painting and Ghanian Kente designs. We will be these genres to develop our pencil and paintbrush control, as well as developing our our understanding of colour use and design.
On Wednesday, there are several children taking part in the rearranged cross country event, and Mrs Harbord has kindly offered to take them- we look forward to hearing about it when they get back at lunchtime.
