We will be hosting a phonics information evening on Wednesday 28th September, and hope that you will be able to join us to find out about how we teaching reading and writing at Amberley. If you have not already let us know you are coming, please get in touch with Mrs Russell in the office.
In maths, we will be looking at matching and sorting, and will use our observation skills to identify attributes that are similar, different or the same. We will be reading 'The Button Box' by Margrett J Reid, 'A Pair of Socks' by Stuart J Murphy, and Noah's Ark to introduce these concepts. There will be lots of practical sorting and matching too.
In RE, we will be looking at how people welcome others into their communities, and will focus on the Christian baptism. If anyone has photos from a baptism, we would love to share them. Please could you either email them to Mrs Crampton, or upload them as an observation on Tapestry.
In literacy, language and communication, we will be reading 'Giraffe's Can's Dance' by Giles Andreae, and will be creating story maps to aid with the retelling of the book, sequencing parts of the story and acting out our favourite parts.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening!
