This Week in Dexter Class
This week in Dexter class, we will be reading Room on the Broom, by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. We will be creating a story map and making suggestions as to what each character might say or be thinking, before writing our ideas on speech bubbles. We will also be finding rhyming words and matching captions to simple sentences. Throughout the week, we will be completing challenges linked to the story, such as writing potions, designing new brooms and creating mud monsters!
In RE, we will be learning about Remembrance Sunday and why people wear poppies to remember those who have served during wars. We will be creating poppy themed art and thinking about those we have lost and how we remember them.
In maths, we will be developing our understanding of the composition of numbers to 5, working on consecutive numbers and saying what is one more and one less than a given number.
If you haven't already completed the online photo permission form, we would be grateful if you could, so that we can update our webpage with images of the children enjoying their learning. The link can be found at the end of the weekly newsletter. Please let us know if you are not receiving the weekly newsletters, so that we can ensure that you are kept up to date!
