This Week in Dexter Class

This week in Dexter class, we will be continuing with our rainforest theme and using our phonetic knowledge to write books, fact sheets and letters. We have received a new email from Amberley school in New Zealand and the children have fascinated by the photos of their school. They have been keen to take photos of our learning environment, write about themselves and explain our learning powers.

In maths, we will be learning to count on to add, and will be using number lines and Numicon to answer maths stories which involve first, then, now questions (First I had 6 pencils, then I added 4 more. How many do I have now? etc).

In RE, we will be continuing to look at the Christian Creation story and will be thinking about how people can help to preserve God's creation. This ties well with our work on rainforests, where we have found out about how much of the Amazon rainforest has been destroyed.
