This week in Dexter Class
This week in Dexter class, we will be finalising our Nativity play with Hereford class and hope to record it so that you can watch it from home. The children have been learning the songs beautifully and are excited to see everything come together on stage.
In phonics, we will be learning the digraphs nk, ai and ee, as well as more high frequency and tricky words, and will be using our phonic knowledge to write letters for the classroom post office, which has appeared in response to our English work on 'The Jolly Christmas Postman' by Allan and Janet Ahlberg. The children have loved the story and are really good at retelling it using a story map.
We have had a unexpected visitor this week. Our classroom elf, Buddy, is now out of his 'elf - isolation' chamber and has been leaving us letters with challenges in them. We are looking forward to seeing what else he gets up to!
Apparently, many of our maths challenges will be coming from Buddy this week, and will involve subitising, number bonds to 5 and measurement. We will not be welly walking this week as we will be rehearsing, ready for our performance!
