This week in Dexter Class

This week in Dexter class, we will be continuing with our work on the beautiful Oliver Jeffers book, 'Here we are'. We will be looking at our place in the world as active and caring citizens, and making links between the book and this term's Christian value of 'Friendship'. In maths, we will be working on one to one correspondence when counting, and making comparisons (bigger/smaller, longer/shorter, more/fewer). We have already taken a look at the 'Oi Frog' series of books by Kes Gray and Jim Field, and have had a great deal of fun working out what different creatures can sit on, using rhyming words.

Alongside all of this, the children will be developing their understanding of the new expectations and routines. They have made great efforts to retell the Parable of the Sower, making links between the seed which grew in fertile soil and their ability to grow as reflective, independent and aspirational learners in the 'soil' of Amberley Parochial.
