This Week in Belted Galloway Class

Hello! This is week 7 of an eight week term and the children are still going, still pushing themselves and still making great progress. Looking at their stories last week filled me with a real pride: many have pushed themselves to produce some of their most detailed and most mature work, and I really look forward to you being able to see this work at parents' evening next term. Similarly, the children's art work that has been painstakingly produced and completed, focussed on mark making on leaf designs, will be up on display in school, and the children are rightly proud of all their efforts. On the subject of effort, I am delighted to see that most children are really putting great efforts into learning their weekly spelling, with record numbers scoring 9 or 10 out of 10 this week. A silly reward is clearly in order this week! Spelling gems tests happen on Thursdays, and children are encouraged to learn a little each day rather than try and do it all on a Wednesday night: research has shown that spellings are more likely to be retained in this way.
