This Week in Belted Galloway Class

We are fully focussed and ever so industrious at this early stage of the term in Belted Galloway class. In English, we have been using the Greek myth Thespina and the Scorpidon to look at developing story structure. We will be planning and writing stories that fits into this structure, with a real emphasis on forward planning and foreshadowing so the stories hang together well. In Maths we will be developing and extending the children's written and mental methods of addition, and the children will be challenging themselves to solve the evil four 4s challenge as part of their homework, which is due in on Friday. Our Immersion Curriculum work this week is a Geography topic centred on Brazil: the children will be learning about the country, including the climate and the levels of inequality that is present there. We will be using our maths skills to analyse population data as the children learn about population density.
