This Week in Belted Galloway Class

Welcome back! We will be hitting the ground running this week: the Year 6 children have a couple of weeks left before their SATs tests, so we aim to make sure they are a s ready and as confident as possible in order to make the most of the process. The skills they will be revising this week will all be tested in their end of key stage tests, but also will be expected skills that the children will need in their next schools, so we like to see this as part of the process of moving forwards and being secondary ready. Year 5 and Year 6 pupils will be separated this week in their English: they will both be embarking on writing projects to develop skills in a range of genres that we have worked on over the year. Smaller groups will mean more focussed support for all children this week. The children have come back very positive and very keen to learn: we aim to place a large emphasis on the children flagging up any errors or areas they are not sure about and seeking support in these areas. Taking control of their learning is a massive step in becoming independent and aspirational learners for life.
