We have made it to the final week of this half term, and the children have worked really hard and made a lot of progress. This week, they will be completing their English work centred around Macbeth. They are working on retelling sections of the play, adapting their language to fit a more 'old fashioned' style and control the way they use speech. It is lovely to see how they are developing the way they use punctuation too: many children are using colons, dashes and colons to structure more complex ideas, and as a result their writing is really developing in maturity. We are completing a sketching block of work in art this week, initially centred on eyes but with a focus on different styles, including impressionism and surrealism. The children will also be looking at providing critique to a partner in order to help them improve. We hope to complete our Guided Reading novel 'The Nowhere Emporium' this week: the children have really engaged with this text, and it has been lovely to see how excited they have become as the book progressed.
