This week in Belted Galloway class

We will endeavour to pack a lot into this short week after the May bank holiday. In maths, we will be starting a block of work on handling data, focussing on finding and interpreting the mean, median, mode and range. The year 6 children will also receive feedback from their practice assessments last week, and will have the chance to flag up issues and areas where they require additional teaching. Taking control of their learning in this way will be good for them before the jump to secondary school. In English, we will be finishing our work on Non Chronological Reports, and starting some fiction work in response to the picture book The Viewer, which will hopeful inspire the children to be darkly creative! Our topic this week is a PSHCE based one: we will be looking at 'Friends and Family', which is a block of work that explores emotions and feelings, and how we relate to those closest to us. News will be coming very soon about a couple of trips booked in for the summer term, as long as we can do so safely! IT's been such a long time since we have been able to take advantage of off site learning experiences. Fingers crossed!
