This Week in Belted Galloway class

Welcome back! I hope you have all had a lovely Easter... it is wonderful to see the sunshine and the world seemingly waking up again. We will be starting a block of work in English this week on Non-Chronological Reports, initially looking at Scientific and Geographic reports, looking at the impersonal and technical language associated with this genre. In Maths, we will be working on Angles (not Angels, as a few children wrote in their books!). We will be estimating, measuring, drawing and calculating angles, and the children will have the opportunity to earn an Angle Measuring Licence if they do well! Our topic this week will be a Science-based one: we will be exploring materials, focussing on their changes and their properties. This will lead us to considering irreversible and reversible changes, and exploring dissolving and burning and how these changes can be categorised.
