This Week in Belted Galloway Class

We hope you have had a restful Easter holidays. A shame that the weather wasn't great, but we hope the children are raring to go for the new term. This week we will be ramping up revision in the build up to the end-of-key stage tests for the Year 6 pupils. Whatever we believe about the tests, the knowledge that the children need to complete the tests is also what they needs to be 'secondary ready', so a focussed revision programme will clearly help them. We have focussed on grammar and punctuation skills this week; we have looked at area and perimeter in maths, as well as revising fractions and properties of number; we have begun a block of work on journalistic writing in English; and we have explored light and shadows in our Science topic about how we see things.
