This Week in Belted Galloway Class
This week has been another busy one, with the children beginning their work on animal classifications in Science. We explored the different way animals were classified, and the children were tasked with the job of researching to become an 'expert' in one area, then present to the class. I have learnt a great deal from them!
In English, we are starting a block of work on flashback narratives, using the short animation The Piano as a stimulus. It is a wonderful piece, and the children have responded so well to it already. If you would like to see it, please follow the following link.
To parallel this, we are also reading Billy The Kid by Michael Morpurgo, which is also a flashback novel, dealing with themes of grief, war and hope.
