This week in Belted Galloway

Welcome to another week in Belted Galloway class, which will start with our somewhat belated celebration of World Book Day, where we will be hopefully completing our class book for this term, The Middler, and taking part in some drama related to other Shakespearean tales. This will allow the children to compare and contrast with the work on Macbeth that they are completing in English this week. In Maths, we will be moving away from fractions and decimals, and linking prior learning with percentages. While we will be finding percentages of quantities in class, the children will also be learning the equivalent fraction, decimal and percentage facts, some of which they will be bringing home to learn to support their class work. In Science, we will be completing our block of work on Evolution and Inheritance. It has been a challenging block of work, and the children have shared so many interesting ideas and asked a range of wonderful questions. Our RE work will be centred around the religion of Judaism for the next few weeks, with a specific emphasis on the Torah and how and why Jews revere it.
