Celebrating the 5th Sunday after Trinity
Dear All,
Our Gospel reading this week is the parable of the sower. This is the Bible story that Amberley Parochial School uses to illustrate the Christian values taught in school. So it should be a story from the Bible. There are many activities that go with this parable, sowing real seeds, cutting out seeds from paper and writing on them the Fruits that the Holy Spirit produces; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control!
This Sunday the church opens for worship. The church will look quite different. There are pews for families to sit on and seats for individuals and couples. There will be no singing. The service will follow the attached document then there will be a short break before Holy Communion. All are welcome but, as ever, I expect no-one!
I would like to create a post-lockdown service that includes everyone from babes in arms to those who are 90 plus. However, I am not sure how to do this without singing and with to have limited activities that cannot be shared outside a family bubble. Any suggestions would be welcome.
I have not attached a Growing Together page this week. Instead I would like to challenge everyone to find something on the internet that they enjoyed doing related to the parable of the sower. Then share it with me, saying why you enjoyed it.
The Diddy Disciples material has now changed. There is now a weekly story telling podcast, material for 0 to 3 year olds and a build your own worship section! Here are the links:
Also included at the bottom of this e-mail is a prayer.
I hope and pray that you are all well, looking after yourselves and keeping in touch with one another. If would like to talk with me, please call me on 01453 873176
Reverend John.
A prayer for the week:
Open our eyes and ears to the presence of Your Holy Spirit.
May the seeds of Your Word scattered among us each day
fall on fertile soil.
May they take root in our hearts and lives,
and produce an abundant harvest
of good words and deeds.
Amen
