This week in Belted Galloway

This week, we will be continuing our booster lessons in English and mathematics, with a distinct focus on the children identifying what they need support with, and with the staff giving the children the support and challenge they need. Last week, the children had half an hour of independent study, where they made decisions about what they needed to practise. I was so impressed with the mature decisions the children made: so much so, that we will be continuing the independent study time this week.

On Monday afternoon, representatives from Belted Galloway with be taking part in the Wild Life quiz; on Wednesday morning, another group of pupils will answer quiz questions for a competition run by Heart FM; and on Wednesday afternoon, two of our pupils will represent the school in the county finals of the STEM Works KNEX challenge. It is wonderful to see our children perform so well beyond the classroom as well as within the classroom.
