This week in Belted Galloway Class

This week, Belted Galloway will be enjoying Science week. We will take part in two trips to secondary schools in the area, where we will be using their facilities to access more complex science skills. This will also be a wonderful opportunity for our children to spend time in a secondary school environment. We will also be taking part in a 'Silly Science' assembly, dressing up as a Mad Scientist, investigating shadow formation and observing materials burning and melting.

In addition to this, children will spend time completing their work on percentages in maths, and writing their final discussion texts in maths. We will be continuing to work through 'Letters from the Lighthouse' as part of our whole class guided reading activity: this novel has clearly inspired the class, and the 'tune in, tune out' approach that we are experimenting with in whole class reading (ask your child about it!) is proving to be quite a profound way to tackle a text.
