This Week in Belted Galloway Class

Following a very weather hit week last week, we hope to get back to normal in Belted Galloway class. Our focus in English will be discussion writing, where the children will be involved in writing texts ranging from topics about whether children should have been evacuated during the war to whether PE should be a daily part of the National Curriculum. It is great to see such opinionated children, who, at the same time, are willing to consider alternative viewpoints.

We will be starting a block of work in PSHE about the influence of the media to the children's lives this week, and will be touching on the knock-on effect on body image. The children will have the chance to discuss the potential for bias in the media, and will be taught to be open-minded and not believe everything that is presented to them without consideration of the reliability of the sources. On Wednesday we are holding a school prayer day and you are welcome to join us after school to visit the stations that the children will have been to during the day. There will not be a whole school worship in church this week.
